Cronus Zen works on all PlayStation 5 consoles (Standard, Digital, Slim, and Pro). It also works with the DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers.
Because Sony updated the PS5 to block third-party devices (Firmware 24.01-08.60.00), you MUST use one of the two methods below to connect your Zen to your PS5.
Zen Link is a small Wi-Fi adapter you plug into your Zen. This is the best and easiest method for 2026 because it bypasses Sony's security wirelessly without adding lag.
Turn ON Bluetooth. Go to Settings → Accessories → General → Advanced Settings. Turn Bluetooth ON.
2
Set Controller to USB. Go to Settings → Accessories → Controller (General) → Communication Method → Select Use USB Cable.
3
Connect Zen to PS5. Plug the Zen into the PS5. If a script is loaded, tap the right blue button on the Zen until you see the alien head (Gearhead/Idle mode).
4
Connect Controller to Zen. Plug your PS5 controller into the A1 USB port (left side) of the Zen.
5
Go to "Turn Off Accessories". On the PS5, go to Settings → Accessories → General → Turn Off Accessories. Highlight your controller but DO NOT PRESS X.
6
The Bypass Move. Hold Right on the D-Pad on your controller. While holding it, unplug the USB cable from the top of the Zen and plug it back in. Keep holding Right for 5 seconds until the Zen screen flashes.
7
Done! Press Circle to exit the menu and launch your game.
Bypass active
If you did it correctly, the bypass is active and you can use your scripts. If your controller disconnects, you must repeat Steps 5 and 6.
Wired headset on PS5
Wired headsets only work when the controller is connected via USB. 3.5mm audio is not available over Bluetooth. USB/wireless headsets connected directly to the PS5 work fine.
Zen Link range
Keep the Zen Link within reasonable Wi-Fi range. Minimize bandwidth-heavy apps (Netflix, etc.) while playing for best performance.
