Dribbling in 2K26 is about rhythm, reads, and combos — not spamming moves. The best ball handlers chain 2–3 moves together to create separation, then attack. Here's how to do it.
| Move | Input | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Hesi | RS → toward ball hand | Freezes defender, opens drive lane. Your bread and butter. |
| Crossover | RS → away from ball hand | Quick change of direction. Great for beating overplaying defenders. |
| Behind the back | RS ↓ | Protects the ball while changing direction. Safe against steals. |
| Spin move | Rotate RS half-circle | Aggressive direction change. High risk, high reward. |
| Size-up | RS ↑ (hold) | Slow size-up animation. Sets up other moves and reads the defense. |
| Stepback | RS ↓ + LT | Creates space for a jumper. Essential for ISO scorers. |
| Momentum escape | Sprint + RS left/right | Quick burst out of a dribble combo. Creates driving lanes. |
Start with these. They work in any mode and are easy to execute:
Hesi → Crossover → Drive. The classic. Hesi to freeze, crossover to change direction, attack the basket.
Size-up → Behind the back → Pull-up. Size-up to make the defender guess, BTB to create space, shoot the mid-range.
Hesi → Stepback → 3-pointer. Hesi to sell the drive, step back for space, pull the trigger. Deadly from the hash.
These require better ball handle ratings (80+) and take practice:
Speed boost → Hesi → Momentum escape → Finish. Use turbo to trigger a speed boost, cancel with hesi, momentum escape past the defender for a layup or dunk.
Curry slide chain. RS toward ball hand while sprinting at an angle. Chain 2–3 together to zigzag across the court. Pairs great with a stepback 3 at the end.
Snatch-back → Drive. Hesi with slight delay, then immediately sprint the opposite direction. The defender bites on the hesi and you blow by.
