Mouse & Keyboard Setup — Cronus Zen

Use mouse and keyboard on console with Cronus Zen. This guide covers the difference between native and emulated M&K, setup steps, and supported devices.

Native vs Emulation

Understanding the difference is essential for knowing how your inputs are handled.

NativeEmulation
How it worksM&K goes directly into the consoleM&K goes into Cronus Zen first, then to console as controller input
Aim assistNone — treated as PC playerFull controller aim assist
Game supportOnly select titlesWorks in any game that supports controllers
Script supportNoYes — full M.O.D. support
SetupPlug & playRequires Zen Studio, profile import, tuning
CustomizationLimitedFull — sensitivity, smoothing, deadzones, key mapping
Why emulation?
Most console games don't support native M&K. Emulation tricks the console into thinking your M&K is a controller — meaning you keep aim assist and can use scripts.

Supported Platforms

  • PC
  • Xbox Series X|S / Xbox One
  • PlayStation 5 (requires Bypass or Zen Link)
  • PlayStation 4
  • Nintendo Switch

Connect & Configure

1
Turn OFF scripts. Press the right blue Memory Slot button on the Zen and cycle until the Collective Minds logo appears (no scripts active).
2
Connect devices:
  • A1: Controller
  • A2: Keyboard
  • A3: Mouse
  • PROG USB: To your PC (for Zen Studio)
3
Check detection in Zen Studio. Open Device tab and look under Connected Devices. Your M&K should appear (a question mark icon just means no custom icon — it still works).
4
Test inputs. Open Tools → Device Monitor:
  • Move mouse → RX/RY values change (right stick)
  • Press WASD → LX/LY values change (left stick)
  • Try spacebar and other keys for additional mappings
M&K takeover
Once connected to the Zen, your mouse and keyboard control the console — not your PC. You'll need a second set of M&K or an MK Switch to toggle between PC and Zen.

Not listed?
If your mouse or keyboard isn't listed, it doesn't mean it's unsupported — it may just not have been tested. Most standard USB devices work fine.
