2K moved the date once already, so let's pin it down. As of the August 18 reveal, the NBA 2K27 release date is September 4, 2026 worldwide — with Early Access starting August 26 at 9:00 AM PT for Deluxe and Ultra edition owners, "up to nine days" before launch. (The original July announcement said August 28; 2K pulled it forward two days.)
The full NBA 2K27 timeline
- July 22 — cover athletes and editions revealed; pre-orders live.
- July 28 — official gameplay trailer.
- August 18 — "Preseason Breakdown" game reveal + full Courtside Reports (gameplay, Builder, City, MyCAREER, MyTEAM, MyNBA, The W).
- August 21 — NBA 2K HQ companion app launches with the full MyPLAYER Builder. Build on your phone, upload to console, share builds via QR codes.
- August 26, 9 AM PT — Early Access (Deluxe/Ultra) on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. That is 12 PM Eastern / 5 PM in London.
- September 4 — worldwide launch, all editions.
- September 6 — Ultra Edition limited availability ends.

- Standard — $69.99. Victor Wembanyama cover. No Early Access. 10,000 VC pre-order bonus.
- Deluxe — $99.99. Caitlin Clark cover (first WNBA player on her own global cover). Early Access + 100,000 VC + MyCAREER/MyTEAM bundles.
- Ultra — $149.99 (limited through Sep 6). Derrick Rose cover. Early Access + 135,000 VC + Season 1 Pro Pass and more. Digital only.
Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam), and Nintendo Switch 2 — Gen 9 only, no PS4/Xbox One. Crossplay is PS5 + Xbox Series X|S only. Deluxe/Ultra are not sold on Switch 2, so there is no Switch 2 Early Access.
