I tune Legends' input processing, which means I spend a lot of time thinking about what happens to a stick signal after our script refines it and before Apex acts on it. In between sits your settings menu, and it can either pass the refined signal through cleanly or mangle it. These are the Apex controller settings I recommend under
Legends, with reasoning for each — the same philosophy as our Fortnite settings guide, adapted to Apex's very different options menu.
Step Zero: Turn On ALCs
Apex's classic sensitivity presets (1-8) bundle deadzone, response curve, and per-axis speeds into single numbers you can't inspect. Advanced Look Controls unbundle everything, and under a script you want everything unbundled — the values that matter most are exactly the ones the presets hide. Turn ALCs on and don't look back.
The ALC Values

The two hills I will die on are the last two rows. First, ADS sensitivity: Auto Aim with Radius Aim refines your input while aiming, and high ADS values mean both you and the script make larger corrections than needed — the combined result overshoots. Second, turning extras: they add acceleration based on how long you've been turning, which makes identical stick positions produce different turn speeds at different moments. That time-dependence is precisely the inconsistency a script pipeline hates. Zero them.
Deadzone Honesty
Same advice I give Fortnite players, because it's physics, not preference: set deadzone as low as your hardware tolerates. Test at 2%, watch for drift in the firing range, and step up only until drift stops. If your sticks need more than about 10% to sit still, the correct fix is stick replacement — every point of deadzone is a band where the script's smallest, most frequent adjustments simply vanish.
Binds for the Movement Suite
Legends' movement macros — Wall Jump, Mantle Jump, Zip Jump, Jump Spam — fire their sequences from the script, but your job during them is aiming, which means your thumbs need to stay on the sticks:
- Jump on a paddle or bumper, never on a face button. Face-button jump means your right thumb leaves the stick at the exact moment a wall jump most needs tracking.
- Crouch on hold, bound to a paddle if you have a second one — slide timing is still a manual skill and it should not cost you stick contact either.
- Interact prioritization on for cleaner death-box behavior alongside the Armor Swap mod — the Armor Swap guide covers that pairing in detail.
A Sane Testing Protocol
Change one value at a time and judge it after a full session, not a single firing-range minute. Your hands adapt to almost any sensible setting within an hour, so first impressions measure novelty, not performance. The skill I'd watch as your canary is mid-range strafe tracking — spray a strafing dummy at 40-60 meters before and after a change. It's the most script-sensitive skill in Apex and the first thing a hostile setting degrades.
Also: settings tinkering has diminishing returns fast. Get inside the ranges above, confirm nothing fights the pipeline, then stop. Every hour spent A/B-testing yaw speed past that point was an hour of actual practice you didn't do.

These settings assume Legends is loaded and running.
