At yew.gg, we respect your privacy and are committed to being transparent about how we handle data. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you visit yew.gg and how it is used.

1. Information We Collect

yew.gg collects minimal data. We do not require you to create an account on our website. The only personal information we collect directly is your email address if you voluntarily submit it through our email capture form (see Section 1a below).

1a. Email Collection

If you submit your email address through our exit-intent form or email capture block, we collect and store that email address to send you promotional offers and product updates. This is entirely voluntary. We use Resend as our email delivery provider. You can opt out at any time by replying to any email with "unsubscribe" or by contacting us at biz@yew.gg.

1b. Developer Submissions

If you contact us or submit a form on yew.gg, we may collect the following personally identifiable information (“PII”) as part of that process:

  • Your name or developer handle
  • Your email address
  • Your IP address at the time of submission (for agreement audit purposes)
  • The timestamp of your submission and agreement acceptance
  • Any files, descriptions, and media you voluntarily submit

This information is stored in our Supabase database and used solely for: processing your submission, communicating with you about it, maintaining an audit record of agreement acceptance (required for DMCA §512 safe harbor compliance), and responding to IP complaints related to your content. We do not sell this data. You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting biz@yew.gg — deletion requests are processed within 30 days. Note that agreement acceptance records may be retained for legal compliance purposes even after other data is deleted.

1c. DMCA Notices

If you submit a DMCA takedown notice through yew.gg/dmca/submit, we collect and store the personal information you provide (name, email, address, phone, and electronic signature) as required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c). This information is used solely to process the notice and is retained for legal compliance. It is shared with the content provider identified in the notice as required by law.

2. Session Recordings & Analytics

We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors interact with our website. Clarity records anonymized session replays and heatmaps that show how users navigate pages, where they click, and how they scroll. This helps us improve the design and usability of our site.

Clarity may collect the following types of data:

  • Pages visited and time spent on each page
  • Mouse movements, clicks, and scroll behavior
  • Device type, browser, and screen resolution
  • General geographic region (country/city level, not precise location)
  • Referring URL (how you arrived at our site)

Clarity does not collect passwords, payment information, or personally identifiable information. Session recordings are anonymized and used solely to improve the user experience on yew.gg. For more information, see Microsoft Clarity's terms.

3. Payments & Account Data

All purchases are processed through Whop, our platform partner. When you make a purchase, Whop collects and processes your payment information, account details, and transaction data. yew.gg does not have direct access to your payment card details or billing information.

4. Cookies

Our website may use cookies set by Microsoft Clarity to enable session recording functionality. These are functional cookies that help us analyze site usage. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies for marketing purposes.

5. Third-Party Services

Our website integrates with the following third-party services:

  • Microsoft Clarity — session recordings and heatmaps for UX improvement
  • Whop — payment processing and product delivery
  • Vercel — website hosting
  • Google Ads / Google Tag Manager — conversion tracking and advertising measurement
  • Ahrefs Analytics — website traffic analytics
  • Anthropic — AI-powered search (user queries submitted through our search feature are processed by Anthropic's API)
  • Upstash Redis — caches recent AI search queries for performance
  • Discord — if you authenticate through Discord OAuth to access member content, Discord processes your login data per their privacy policy
  • Resend — email delivery for users who subscribe via our email capture form

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data. We encourage you to review their policies.

6. Data We Do Not Collect

To be clear, yew.gg does not:

  • Collect email addresses except when voluntarily submitted through our opt-in email capture form (see Section 1a)
  • Run unsolicited email marketing or share email lists with third parties
  • Use Google Analytics or similar analytics platforms
  • Sell, rent, or share any data with third parties for advertising
  • Store any payment or financial information

7. Children's Privacy

Our services are available to users aged 13 and older with parental consent for those under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the limited data collected through our site. Our website is served over HTTPS and hosted on Vercel's secure infrastructure. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Right to correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal data

For developer submissions or DMCA notices, we will process deletion requests subject to applicable legal obligations.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of our website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
